If you could swear by one household appliance, what would that be? Well, for me undoubtedly it will be a vacuum cleaner. From cleaning the fans placed high to cleaning the bottom of your couch, a vacuum cleaner can truly become your trusted friend!
Many of us know the general applications of a vacuum cleaner, but what about the unusual things that it can do? Well, in this post, we will discuss the things you never thought you could do with a vacuum cleaner.
Without any further ado, let’s begin!
1. Find Small Items
Do you agree with me when I say that tiny objects are hard to find? Well, if you manually start searching for a small object you have lost, the entire process will be very tedious. However, you can easily do it with a vacuum cleaner.
All you need to do is tie old tights at the mouth of the hose of the vacuum cleaner and then start vacuuming the area where you think you might have lost the item.
If you run away from the mere thought of cleaning your room or home then it’s time to bring home a good vacuum cleaner.
2. Freshen the Air
While you are cleaning the usual things placed in your home, you can also freshen the air using a vacuum cleaner. For doing this, you will need a few drops of essential oil. We will particularly advise you to go with lavender essential oil. You need to add the oil droplets to a cotton ball. Now place this cotton ball in the dust cup of the vacuum cleaner and start cleaning as usual.
3. Freshen Your Mattress
No matter how much you clean a mattress, it always feels dirty. If you want to freshen your mattress, you can use a vacuum cleaner, and no, we are not talking about simple vacuuming. For this process, you will first need to sprinkle a good amount of baking soda on the mattress. Now allow the baking soda to settle on the mattress for an hour or so. And now clean the carpet with a vacuum cleaner.
4. Deodorize Anything
You can deodorize almost anything with a vacuum cleaner. For this, the first thing that you need to do is remove the odor. You do not want to mix two smells, obviously.
Simply put some baking soda over the surface of the object that you want to deodorize. Let it settle for an hour or so. Now take a cotton ball and add some essential oil to it. Now place the cotton ball in the dust cap of the appliance and start vacuuming the object. In no time, the object will be surrounded by a heavenly smell.
5. Groom Your Pet
Do you like to groom your pet? If yes, you might be thinking of purchasing expensive, grooming products. But do you need them when you have a vacuum cleaner? Of course, not. In fact, many owners have claimed that their pet enjoys when they are groomed with the help of a vacuum cleaner.
There are special pet grooming attachments available for vacuum cleaners. The pet grooming attachment gently removes loose hair and dead skin cells to keep your dog’s coat healthy, shiny and fresh.
6. Inflate an Air Mattress
You don’t always need a pump to inflate an air mattress. With the diverse range of equipment which comes with a vacuum cleaner, you can easily inflate your air mattress with a vacuum cleaner too.
To do this, remove the dust bag and connect a long, narrow cleaning nozzle to the hole that the dust bag was originally attached to. Insert the other end of the nozzle in the air inlet of your air mattress. Turn on the vacuum cleaner, the air coming out of the nozzle will inflate your mattress.
7. Clean Curtains
When you open the windows, all the dust from the outside comes and sticks to the window panes and curtains, of course. Not many people bother to clean the curtains, but that’s so wrong.
If you do not want to wash the curtain, it’s alright, but still, you have to ensure that they are clean. You can simply clean the curtains with a vacuum cleaner. The vacuum hose will eat all the dirt that has settled on the curtain.
8. Clean Washing Machine’s Lint Filter
You can clean the lint filter of a washing machine using a vacuum cleaner. Use the brush attachment that came with the vacuum cleaner and then clean the lint filter. Finish the procedure with the help of a crevice tool to remove any remaining lint.
9. Fix Carpet Dents
When you place any furniture or for a matter of fact, any other object, visible dents appear on the carpet. Many people keep on wondering how they can fix these carpet dents. If you are one of them, we have got you covered. First, place some ice on the dent and allow it to melt, this will make the fibers of the carpet malleable. And then run a vacuum cleaner over it.
